Recently I have been involved with the iShoU Project advising on the branded direction of the system and overall project. I have been working with Dr Anita Kocsis and her Group of professional digital UX designers and pushing the concept in a engaging direction. We have been working on the first stage of the development of the app and it’s eco system where a trial of the users engagement interface and harvesting of data has been taking place in Hong Kong within City University at the Nodem Conference. I am excited by the positive results and feedback from a range of users who found the experience of using the iShoU app and the prospect of gaining the data from the interactive space to visualise it. Here are some great images of users interacting with the iShoU app at the Nodem Conference in the Pure Land digital immersive space at iGlam department, Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre.

When I saw this animation taken over a few days I was amazed and excited by the idea of moving a space shuttle through LA in what looks like suburban streets. Some of the camera angles and framing is just breathtaking, I think even Toyota with it's Tundra truck towing the shuttle seemed like a minor marketing coup. Great to be inspired by strange happenings.

Digital data and design, such a hot topic

Tracking my habits through FourSquare, interesting

Tracking my habits through FourSquare, interesting

I am finding recently this hot area in the shadows of digital marketing where data needs design  more and more, referencing a need to influence the publics perception of how data is used. I am very interested in these new burgeoning areas where designers have a more influential role next to coders and UX instigators. The designer can contribute to representation of data by the public in a more human and easily understand form.

A more palatable aesthetic can be achieved by directing new ways of interacting and consuming data use and removing  traditional marketing bias, fears, tracking issues, it's an interesting challenge for design.
