As a designer who is professionally equipped with a diverse toolkit of skills and life experiences, I advocate a human centred easy to understand approach to problem solving and employ design thinking, problem identification, consider visual styles and solutions, the design challenges and clarify the brief with stakeholders no matter to size or time frame of the task given. I deliver clean, modern, easy to understand design solutions that speak to the clients and user audiences who will interact with and use the design outcomes at various stages ranging from concept development to final solutions for implementation on time and within budget.
I started out in Advertising in the creative dept, moved into design working in various corporate design branding studios, I have worked across multiple sectors with extensive experience in Branding/Graphic Studios (BBDA, Gill Cetti), University (Swinburne & Design Factory Melbourne), Architecture (John Wardle Architects), and recently FinTech & Startup (IRESS, Muse). So subsequently I have 15 + years of experience in design-driven decision making to empower stakeholders, both design and non-design teams and educated clients on how design thinking can enhance their branded collateral and communication to clarify and advocate their purpose.
Traditionally I have worked with and in design studios (BBDA, Gill Cetti), within corporate office environment, (IRESS) marketing and product dev teams using internal communication systems, Outlook, Skype, Slack, Jura, Visual Studio while working as a blend of in-office and online work practices. Recently within the Covid-19 realm most of my recent work practices like (Muse) has been totally online using a variety of communication software and interaction solutions (Zoom, Slack, Monday, Figma, Google Drive, Adobe CC). Depending on the situation I am always prepared to learn new software or try new experiences.
Today my work requires me to design for the now and include the ramifications for the future. My extensive design skills and experiences help corporate teams to target their concepts, scenario their ideas, test and iterate user input leading to evidence-based outcomes underscored by design thinking and human centre values. I am always looking for the next opportunity, a different experience no matter the level or chance to contribute within a open and dynamic team of like-minded professionals.
Recently due to Covid19, I have been mainly working online with a group of museum and university professionals in EPFL Lausanne Switzerland (via Zoom) to produce and develop a innovative audience engaging interface solution, a innovative museum evaluation tool to empower the voice of the visitor. Working within a small team, I like to educate my co workers using design thinking principals helping them understand the nuance’s of how the audience might engage with the product, often helping them view the issue using design outcomes by how the audience might view the solution. Getting them to understand the key design points of view within a design problem moving them beyond their own point of views on how they may see the issue… allow the team to make informed decisions for successful outcomes. The muse startup is currently working with a select range of swiss based museums, expanding it client base as the app develops. https://muse.stream, I am part of the founding team of muse.
