three.eight.one : logolog Blog about logo design
Logolog is my personal blog. Mostly it’s about logo design, but occasionally you will see some other interesting content as well.
I’ve been storing all sorts of logos on my computer, so I thought I could start posting them with short comments about each one and make an online logo collection. That has been also one of the reasons I made the Journal. It takes time to write, but it takes even more to find the good stuff to make good entries. There are already numerous collections of logos on the web but, I hope I will manage to make this one a little bit different.
The logos I post are those which made me smile and think, the ones I wish I had thought of first! I like it when logos take me by surprise, either with unexpected associations or playful ideas.
...is probably the best way to explain it.
Friends of mine have been a great help to my understanding of this aspect of graphic design. Also, the stuff I find online is a constant source of inspiration. Don’t expect me to throw in any deep analyses and professional criticism, that is not what this is about. Take this as a simple hobby!
I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Behind The Scenes with the Disco Icon
http://www.jasperhauser.nl/weblog/2006/ … arter.html
Regardless of what one might think about Disco as a functioning application, it's hard to deny that the latest app from the Madebysofa crew certainly has a unique look to it, and it is spiffy to boot. For the Disco application icon, designers Jasper Hauser and Hugo van Heuven collaborated to create something that I think deserves almost as much praise and attention as the application itself. Jasper has been kind enough to recount for us on his blog how the icon came to be, and the thought processes behind it.
